Another Elusive Pedro Sighting!

Today we had a midwife appointment. We now have weekly visits until the baby comes. We are almost 35 weeks pregnant! The baby's heartbeat was great (130s). The baby as usual moved a lot...the little stinker. The baby was being so difficult, the midwife couldn't get a good feel on Baby Pedro's position. I could read the midwife's face like a book...she was thinking breech; she wasn't sure of the baby's position (she was guessing the baby was head down). She wanted to be safe, so off we went for an ultrasound. On the way there, I just kept praying a Bible verse: "children are a gift from God"...I prayed that our baby would be a gift to us and would be head down. The ultrasound went great. The baby is NOT breech, but IS head down!

Just like the last ultrasound we had, the baby kept covering his/her face...and the reason the midwife couldn't get a good feel on the baby's position: the baby has a foot up by the face! There was a foot by the forehead...and a hand playing with the toes (quite the little acrobat). Our baby has the cutest chubby cheeks and pouty lips! The pictures aren't the greatest mostly because there isn't much room for the baby to move around. We got to see our beautiful baby & are all the more excited for this baby's arrival!

Our sweet baby's chubby cheeks...and I mean chubby. They had difficulty trying to measure the thigh bone as the baby likes to keep it's leg/legs up UNDER my ribs! They guess the baby weights about 6lbs now!

The baby is facing you. The toes, forehead and chin are labeled. There is a hand under the foot as well as the eyes, nose and cute pouty lips (mommy has those pouty lips)! Those hands and feet tickle & punch my bladder...I do have to frequently tell the baby "stop that".

Isn't our baby beautiful?! We can't wait to pinch those chubby cheeks...the ultrasound tech who did both ultrasounds wants us to bring the baby in after he/she is born so she can see the chubby cheeks in person!!! :-)
